MOSCOW, March 8. /TASS/. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin greeted women on the International Women’s Day stressing Russia celebrates this holiday with special warmth - like, probably, nowhere else in the world.

"It is filled with gifts and flowers, with most kind feelings towards our mothers, wives, daughters, colleagues - to all the women close to our hearts," the president said in the greeting, which the Rossiya 24 television channel broadcasted earlier on Tuesday.

"I would like to offer words of appreciation today to the women of the war generation. Your fortitude, your heroism have taught us to be true men, to win despite anything. Modern women are no worse than you. They manage everything: they get to the high levels in professions, in creative activities, in public life, they make heartily and comfortable atmosphere in a family, they grow up children."

"Women give life to us, warm us with their love, support and care," the president said. "The true spirit of Russia is revealed in women, in their dignity and charity.".
