Russian emergencies ministry to send this year’s first humanitarian convoy to Donbass

It will be 49th humanitarian convoy since August 2014 and the first one this year

MOSCOW, February 18. /TASS/. Russia’s emergencies ministry on Thursday will send yet another humanitarian convoy to Donbass, the ministry’s press service said.

It will be 49th humanitarian convoy since August 2014 and the first one this year.

"More than 100 trucks with more than 1,000 tons of humanitarian cargoes will set off from the Russian emergencies ministry’s Don rescue center [in the southern Rostov region] for Donetsk and Lugansk," the press service said.

Humanitarian cargoes will include food products, textbooks and study aids and firefighting equipment.

Since mid-August 2014, the Russian emergencies ministry has delivered more than 58,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
