MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Russia will present its Ebola vaccine to the World Health Organization (WHO) on February 16, Health Ministry spokesman Oleg Salagai said on Friday.
"On February 15 and 16, the health minister will be in Geneva to presentation of the Russian-made Ebola vaccine," Salagai said. "On February 16, the minister plans to meet with WHO head Dr. Margaret Chan."
Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova said earlier that Russia's Ebola vaccine will be used in Guinea from this fall.
"We have no doubts in the effectiveness of our vaccine," she said.
The WHO data puts the death toll from Ebola's West Africa outbreak at 11,291 and the number of infected cases at more than 28,000.
WHO says Ebola virus disease is "a severe, often fatal illness, with a case fatality rate of up to 90%".
