HAVANA, February 10. /TASS/. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will meet in Cuba with Cuban leader Raul Castro, the Cuban Foreign Ministry reported Wednesday.
"During his stay, the patriarch of Moscow and All Russia will hold official talks with Army General Raul Castro Ruz, president of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers, and take part in other events within the framework of his official program," the ministry said.
"His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and His Holiness Pope Francis will hold a meeting on February 12 in Havana," the statement said.
It said the head of the Russian Orthodox Church "will arrive in Cuba on an official visit on Thursday, February 11."
Patriarch Kirill will be in Cuba on February 11-14 as part of his first pastor’s visit to Latin American countries, which will last until February 22 and cover Cuba, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay. On February 12, the patriarch will meet with the pope, who will make a stop on his way to Mexico, in Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport.
