MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. The bodies of five people who have died in the fire on Stromynka Street in the east of Moscow have been found, a source in the medical circles told TASS on Sunday.

"The fire has killed five people. Their bodies were found while clearing the rubble," the source said.

Media reports earlier said that up to nine people could be in the building where the fire erupted.

The Moscow department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has confirmed that that several bodies had been discovered in the rubble, without specifying the number.

The fire erupted in an old building on Moscow’s Stromynka Street accommodating a sewing shop late in the evening on Saturday. It was localized at midnight and extinguished at 00:55 Moscow Time on Sunday. About 3,000 square meters have been damaged by fire, with the roof collapsing on the area of 500 square meters.
