MEXICO CITY, January 24 /TASS/. A fire started on an oil platform owned by the Mexican state oil company Petroleos Mexicanos, which is the ninth largest oil producer in the world. The company’s management made a statement on its Twitter page on Saturday.
It has been reported that the fire started in the engine room of the platform. The fire caused no oil spill or leak. 97 people were evacuated from the burning platform. Currently, the fire has been extinguished almost completely.
