SOCHI, January 5. /TASS/. Support of tour operators focused on the domestic tourism will make possible to create competitive environment on the market, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday in Sochi at the meeting on domestic tourism.

"Many travel agencies and tour operators are currently working in highly challenging conditions. There is a suggestion to provide subsidies for those of them that intend to focus on national routes. This will require development of a series of regulatory documents and I will give such an assignment after the today’s meeting," the prime minister said.

Tour operators developing new routes and kinds of rest will be primarily eligible for the government support. "I mean such uncommon lines for Russia as ethnographic, Arctic, military-historical and industrial tourism. Pilot projects in many of such areas proved they are in demand," Medvedev said.
