Police working at derailing site in Russian Far East

BLAGOVESHCHENSK, January 4. /TASS/. Transport police officers are inspecting the site where cars of a cargo train in the Amur Region in Russia’s Far East derailed, the Interior Ministry’s regional transport department reported Monday.

Earlier the regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that seven cars of a cargo train got derailed at the Zabaikalskaya Railroad in the Amur Region on January 3.

No one was injured. The cargo train comprised 44 open cars loaded with lumber and empty platforms with containers and was going in the northern direction along the route Skovorodino-Tynda.

The incident reportedly blocked rail traffic in both directions. Traffic along one track of the Gorely-Skovorodino section of the Zakaikalskaya Railroad was soon restored, the Railroad said in a statement.

Five passenger trains were delayed in connection with the incident. The cause of the derailing it being established.
