Fire in residential house in central Moscow extinguished

In all, ten people were evacuated because of the fire

MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. A major fire in a residential 6-storey building in central Moscow has been extinguished, the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Moscow department said.

"At 08:49 (Moscow Time) the fire was localized and at 09:59 - extinguished," the ministry said.

Earlier reports said that at 07:01 Moscow Time the operational service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Crisis Management Center had received information about a fire in an apartment at Dolgorukovskaya Street, 29. It turned out that the fire had erupted in a 6-storey brick residential house on the second floor and partially on the roof, with household garbage and construction materials bursting into flame. The total area of the fire was about 350 meters.

In all, ten people were evacuated because of the fire.
