EKATERINBURG/UFA, December 29. /TASS/. Consul General of Hungary in Ekaterinburg Pal Ene Fabian has died in Ufa after a car crash in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman in Ekaterinburg Alexander Kharlov told TASS on Tuesday.

Local doctors also confirmed the information. "The consul has died," a source in the medical circles told TASS.

On December 25 Fabian got in a traffic accident on a highway in Bashkortostan. He sustained an open brain injury, chest injuries, and his bones were fractured. The consul general was taken to a hospital in the Duvansky district where he underwent several operations.

Bashkortostan’s road police told TASS on Sunday a Volvo car, where the diplomat was, collided with a GAZ truck on a Kropachevo-Mesyagutovo-Achit highway. The circumstances of the car crash are being investigated.
