Road accident in eastern Cuba leaves 13 people dead

HAVANA, December 29. /TASS/. A total of thirteen people died and another 34 were injured on Monday when two trucks re-equipped for carrying passengers collided in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, the Cuban media said.

Reports said one of the trucks was heading from Havana to Guantanamo and the other, from the village of Yerba de Guinea to the town of Songo la Maya in Santiago de Cuba province.

More than 10,000 road accidents have been registered in Cuba this year. Official data suggests they claimed the lives of 688 people.
