Putin to hold meeting of presidential council for culture and art

Russian presidential advisor Vladimir Tolstoy, who is responsible for the culture sphere in the Kremlin administration, told TASS the meeting will focus on the strategy of the state cultural policy

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to attend a meeting of the presidential council for culture and art in the Kremlin on Friday to sum up the Year of Literature in 2015 and consider proposals on holding the Year of Russian Cinema in 2016.

The Kremlin also said the meeting will discuss "the issues of priorities of Russia’s cultural and humanitarian development, ensuring the freedom of creativity and developing the state support for professional creative activity, the participation of public organizations and professional associations in implementing the state cultural policy."

Russian presidential advisor Vladimir Tolstoy, who is responsible for the culture sphere in the Kremlin administration, told TASS the meeting will focus on the strategy of the state cultural policy.

"The members of the council are preparing speeches and that’s why various issues may be discussed as those present will be the representatives of almost all the spheres of culture," he said.
