KAZAN, December 21. /TASS/. Amur the tiger from a safari park in Russia’s Far East may accidentally kill his goat friend Timur while playing, famous circus trainer Edgard Zapashny told TASS on Monday.
"Tigers often attack and injure each other with their claws while playing. Amur can easily kill the goat during a game. Even if he wounds the goat, his hunting instinct may come later," said the Moscow State Circus trainer, adding, however, that Amur and Timur may remain friends until one of them dies from natural causes.
"It’s possible, but everything depends on the tiger," Zapashny added, noting that such friendship was a rare phenomenon. "The goat somehow managed to show the tiger he was not prey while the tiger got interested as caged animals are often bored," he said.
The three-year-old tiger and the goat supposed to be his lunch have lived alongside for a month. The animals spend hours together, walking about the vast enclosure side by side. The safari park is publishing daily online reports about their friendship for thousands of Amur and Timur fans in Russia and abroad.
