Putin offers condolences over tragedy at oil deposit

The latest reports say after the accident and fire at the oil rig two people died, and 29 are missing

MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin sent to his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev a telegram, where he offers condolences over the tragedy at the Guneshli oil rig in Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea.

"Please, forward my sincere sympathy and support to families and friends of the victims and wishes of soonest recovery to all the injured," the telegram reads.

The latest reports say after the accident and fire at the oil rig two people died, and 29 are missing. The search is under way. 32 workers were rescued.
