30 people reported missing after fire at Azerbaijan’s oil rig in Caspian Sea

Also, latest reports say that one person died in the fire and another 32 oil riggers were evacuated

BAKU, December 5. /TASS/. Following the fire at Azerbaijan’s deep-sea oil rig Gyuneshli in the Caspian Sea, 30 people have been reported missing. A list of the missing persons was released by the country’s State Oil Company on Saturday.

Ships of Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company and the BP oil giant along with the country’s border guard service are conducting a search and rescue operation. Latest reports say that one person died in the fire and another 32 oil riggers were evacuated.

On Friday, the oil rig caught fire following a problem with a gas line. The fire is still raging and supposedly has spread to its oil and gas wells.
