Tiger and his goat friend given separate safari park enclosures

Amur the three-year-old tiger and Timur the goat have lived alongside for several days, the goat even taking over the predator's bed

VLADIVOSTOK, November 30. /TASS/. Keepers at the Far East safari park nurturing the unusual friendship of a Siberian tiger and a goat meant to be his food have decided to settle the pals in separate enclosures, director Dmitry Mezentsev told TASS.

Headline-makers last week, Amur the three-year-old tiger and Timur the goat will now part for the night and spend time together during the day. They have lived alongside for several days, the goat even taking over the predator's bed.

Zookeepers have noticed the goat’s presence was making the tiger more calm, Mezentsev said, pledging that Amur "would not be fed with live goats in future".

"Timur considers Amur his leader and follows him everywhere. Amur doesn't regard the goat as his prey," the director said earlier.
