One passenger survives hard landing of helicopter in Siberia

The helicopter served a Tumen - Khantymansiisk route

YEKATERINBURG, November 29. /TASS/. One passenger survived as an AS-350 helicopter made a rough landing in Russia’s Khanty - Mansi Autonomous District (Yugra), press service of the local police said on Sunday.

"The helicopter of the Skol Company was flying over deposits," the press service said. "On board were workers of an oil company. One of them got off at a deposit and the helicopter continued the flight till the hard landing happened."

Two bodies were found in the cockpit, two other bodies - in 50 metres from the crash site.

The accident happened near the Kedrovoye settlement. The helicopter was on the way from Tumen to Khantymanskiisk. There were five people on board: two crew and three passengers. Four people died.

Investigation is under way.
