MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Beauty contest hopeful Sofia Nikitchuk, to represent Russia at the Miss World 2015 pageant in China, says she will come bearing gifts for all 120 other aspirants for the crown on December 19 in the city of Sanya.
"I will carry two bags with presents," 22-year-old Nikitchuk, an arts student at the Urals Federal University, told a news conference at TASS.
Each of her rivals will be given slippers decorated with the Khokhloma pattern, a rich floral motif mixing scarlet, black and festive gold and a symbol of Russia.
"I am flying to China tomorrow and wild preparations will begin," Nikitchuk said, adding that in the finals, she would wear a dress by famous Russian designer Igor Chapurin.
The first Miss World beauty pageant was held in the United Kingdom in 1951. Two Russian girls have worn the coveted crown - Yulia Kurochkina in 1992 and Ksenia Sukhinova in 2008.
