Boeing-738 brings first 186 tourists from Egypt to Volgograd

VOLGOGRAD, November 8 /TASS/. Nordwind Airlines Boeing-738 plane has delivered 186 passengers from Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh to Volgograd, a city on the Volga River.

"A plane with 186 passengers, including 42 children, onboard has landed at the airport," Major General Oleg Grebenyuk, the head of the Emergencies Ministry department for the Volgograd region, told journalists.

"All the passengers arrived without their luggage. They will fill in special forms where they will write their addresses. Rosaviatisya with the help of Russian Post will inform them where their luggage is," Grebenyuk said.

According to the Volgograd regional authorities, 374 tourists from Volgograd went to Egypt in October-November this year. The remaining 188 holidaymakers will return to Moscow on November 10.

Russian tourists are returning from Egypt according to their air tickets. They are leaving Egypt only with hand luggage. Russian Emergency Ministry planes and other Russian air carriers are transporting their suitcases and travel bags to Moscow’s Vnukovo airport.

he first Russian Emergencies Ministry plane has brought the luggage of Russian tourists from Egypt to Moscow’s Vnukovo airport, the ministry’s press service told TASS.

"An Il-76 plane of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations has landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport. It brought about 30 tonnes of luggage belonging to passengers from several flights that had left Egypt without it on Saturday. The cargo consists of more than 1,100 suitcases and travel bags, each of which weighs approximately 25 tonnes," the press service said.

"These are the personal things of tourists from eight flights which left Sharm el-Sheikh," the Russian Emergencies Ministry clarified.

The Vnukovo airport ground services will unload the luggage that will be stored in specially designated places from where it will be handed over to the owners or transported further to other Russian regions and cities.

Earlier, the Russian Transport Ministry and Rosaviatisya [Federal Air Transport Agency] defined the further procedure of handing over the luggage to the passengers. Regular flights will deliver the luggage from Moscow to airports of destination in Russian regions. Russian Post will also be involved in delivering the luggage to the owners.
