BEIJING, October 4. /TASS/. China’s authorities have announced the highest level alert in the country’s south as typhoon Mujigae is approaching.
The National Meteorological Center has issued a storm warning, saying Mujigae, the 22nd typhoon this season, will make a landfall at noon on the shores between Xuwen and Dianbai counties of Guangdong.
Meteorologists say the winds are up to 48 meters per second. "Local authorities are on guard against the approaching typhoon," the Xinhua news agency has reported.
China has introduced four-level system to warn about disasters, with the red color for the most extreme weather conditions, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
