Ded Moroz Train goes into Russian Book of Records

The train is a special project of Russian Railways and the government of the Vologda Region, introduced on December 5, 2021

TASS, November 9. Ded Moroz's (Russian Santa) fairy-tale train from Veliky Ustyug has been included in the Russian Book of Records for its long-distance journey, Russian Railways reported.

Ded Moroz traveled 33,686 kilometers on his train last year.

"Ded Moroz's Train has entered the Russian Book of Records. It traveled 33,686 kilometers in three months last year. The certificate confirming this achievement was presented to Ded Moroz by the founder and editor-in-chief of the book, Stanislav Konenko," the report says.

This year Ded Moroz will set off on a big New Year's journey on his train on November 11. First, he will visit the cities of Labytnangi, Vorkuta, Usinsk, Pechora, Ukhta and Syktyvkar. On November 18-19 he will stay in his kingdom, celebrate his birthday and light Russia's first Christmas tree. Then the magic man will continue his journey, taking his train on a 32,000-kilometer trip through more than 80 cities. Extended and short holiday programs are planned in big cities and small stations. The journey will end in mid-January.

Ded Moroz's Train is a special project of Russian Railways and the government of the Vologda Region. It was introduced on December 5, 2021. The route lasted 41 days and passed through 36 cities of Russia. In 2022, the train route was tripled, covering more than 100 cities from Veliky Ustyug to Vladivostok. In just two years, more than 900,000 people have seen the train in more than 150 Russian cities.
