Kazan short-listed for receiving status of European Youth Capital 2022

The contest winners will be declared in November 2019

KAZAN, March 12. /TASS/. Tatarstan’s main city, Kazan, joined the list of five cities that may receive the status of European Youth Capital 2022, the press service of Tatarstan’s Ministry for Youth Affairs reported on Tuesday.

"The European Youth Forum declared the short list of cities that claim the status of European Youth Capital 2022. Among them is Kazan, which successfully passed the first qualifying stage of the contest and joined the top five contenders with support from the National Youth Council of Russia. The other contenders are Baia Mare (Romania), Poznan (Poland), Tirana (Albania) and Varazdin (Croatia)," the press service said in the statement.

All the cities on the short list will have to submit applications with the contest committee which will include a heavy program of socio-political and cultural youth events. The contest winners will be declared in November 2019 in France’s Amiens.
