Next Russian Seasons festival to take place in France in 2020

The project was initiated by the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian government

BERLIN, March 7. /TASS/. The Russian Seasons music festival will take place in France in 2020, Russian Deputy Minister of Culture Alla Manilova stated on Tuesday.

"The decision has been made recently," she said.

In early January, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets informed journalists that France expressed interest in organizing the Russians Seasons festival, which is currently taking place in Germany.

The project was initiated by the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian government. Within this festival, best Russian artists, dancers, singers tour the selected country for a year.

The Russian Seasons festival, named after the legendary tours of Sergei Diaghilev’s ballet company, was first held in 2017 in Japan, gathering more than 3.5 million visitors in 42 cities of the country. In 2018, the festival took place in Italy. In the last two years, about 9 million people have attended the festival, Alexey Lebedev, its head, claimed.
