Nenets Region to participate in eleven national projects

The regional authorities said that the most important would be projects to move people out of outdated houses

SOCHI, February 15. /TASS/. The Nenets Region will take part in eleven national projects. It will skip only the Science national project, the region’s Governor Alexander Tsybulsky told TASS at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi on Friday.

"Our region will participate in all national projects, with the exception for development of sciences, since we do not have higher education or research institutions - this is how it has formed historically," he said. "All other directions will be implemented actively in the region."

According to the official, most important would be projects to move people out of outdated houses. "We have problems with moving people out of outdated, worn-out houses. <…> We also focus on building social infrastructures, like… hospitals, schools and boarding schools, especially which are for children from nomadic families," he continued.

Another direction is development of the transport infrastructures. "Here, the key is the road between Syktyvkar and Naryan Mar, which we need," the governor said. "It is an important direction, which will settle main logistics inconveniences in the region."

The Russian government has announced 12 national projects - Demography, Culture, Healthcare, Education, Housing and Urban Environment, Ecology, Roads, Labor Productivity and Employment Support, Science, Digital Economy, Small and Medium Business, International Cooperation and Export. These projects are to be implemented to 2024.
