GROZNY, January 31, /TASS/. Russia’s oldest woman, Koka Istambulova, who was born in 1889, has died in the North Caucasian republic of Chechnya, he grandson, Ilyas Abubakarov, told TASS on Thursday.

The woman had a passport carrying only the year of her birth. The date and month of birth were not indicated.

"Basically, she was in good health, having only some blood pressure problems. But suddenly she felt sick, complaining of breathing problems. We called a doctor who gave her an injection but she did not recover," her grandson said, adding that she was buried in her native village of Bratskoye on January 27.

Russia’s Pension Fund said in May 2018 that Russian oldest woman was living in the Chechen Republic.
