Aeroflot cancels 16 flights from and to Moscow on January 18-19 due to bad weather

MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. Russia’s flagship air carrier, Aeroflot, has cancelled 16 flight from and to Moscow on January 18-19 because of bad weather conditions.

According to Aeroflot’s press statement released on Friday, the company has cancelled flights from Sheremetyevo to Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Belgrade, Helsinki, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Riga, and Tallinn and return flights from these cities.

Friday’s weather in Moscow is untypically warm for this time of the year, with air temperatures rising up to two degrees above zero. However, according to weather forecasts, snow and ice storm are expected in the nighttime, with air temperatures dropping to 10-12 degrees below zero. Moreover, wind is expected to gust to 15 meters a second. A yellow weather warning has been issued for Moscow and the Moscow region.
