Twenty Russian films to screen at Indian Film Festival

The Indywood Film Carnaval will be held on December 1-5,

MOSCOW, November 21/ TASS/. Russian cinema will be presented at the Indian film industry forum IFC-2018 forum (Indywood Film Carnaval) on December 1-5, 2018 for the first time, as the main event of the festival, the press service of the Russian Pavilion told TASS on Wednesday

The Indywood Film Market will be held at the forum, giving the producers and distributors a chance to meet. "The plan is to present 15-20 Russian films at the film market," the press service said.

A film festival will also be held as part of the forum, and the organizers plan to show 115 films from over 50 countries. "There are agreements with the organizers to provide a special slot "Russia as the Focus County" for Russian films," the press service explained. The plan is to have 7-8 Russian films at the festival.

The forum will award an international film award Indywood Excellence Awards for film production, media and film education. "An agreement was reached with the organizers on the participation of Russian films in the nomination" for Best Foreign Film" the press service said. "IFC 2018 is the flagship event of the Indian film industry in India," the organizers of the Russian Pavilion said. "The forum is a universal platform to showcase the latest technologies and future opportunities across the entire spectrum of film production, co-production and B2B, skills development, technical support, post-production, distribution and marketing."

The expected attendance of IFC 2018 is over 15 000.
