Moscow, OIC agree to team up in fight against terrorism

The sides paid particular attention to the related situation in the Middle East

MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. Russia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have agreed to expand their cooperation in the war on terror, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday following a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov and the OIC delegation headed by Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Abdullah Alim.

"The parties have discussed the issues of cooperation in the area of international fight against terrorism and extremism, and exchanged their views about terrorist threats in different parts of the world, particularly in the Middle East," according to the statement. "An agreement has been reached to further expand cooperation between Russia and the OIC in the fight against terrorism and other international security challenges both bilaterally and within key international platforms.".
