Putin describes his visit to Austrian top diplomat’s wedding as ‘heartful’

The Russian president gave a toast in German, joked and danced with the bride and guests

BERLIN, August 18. /TASS/. Russian president described the wedding of Austria’s Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, which he attended earlier on Saturday, as "heartful."

"It [the wedding] was very good, heartful," the president told reporters ahead of his talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel near Berlin.

The president did not elaborate on details, saying that it was a private visit.

Putin attended the wedding several hours before his arrival to Germany. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the president brought a picture with a rural scenery, a vintage butter churn and a samovar as wedding presents. He also gave a toast in German, joked and danced with the bride and guests.
