Humanitarian assistance delivered to families of killed servicemen in Syria’s Aleppo

Illegal armed groups continue to violate ceasefire in the Idlib de-escalation zone

MOSCOW, August 5. /TASS/. Officers of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties delivered humanitarian assistance to the families of killed servicemen in the Syrian city of Aleppo, the Center’s chief, Alexei Tsygankov, said on Sunday.

"Officers of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties conducted a humanitarian operation in Aleppo’s Shaiban Pasha, Sheikh Fars, al-Qasidiya and Sheikh Khodr neighborhoods. Food products and school kits were delivered to 15 families of killed servicemen," he said.

According to Tsygankov, illegal armed groups continue to violate ceasefire in the Idlib de-escalation zone. "During the day, illegal armed groups operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone shelled the settlements of Mamukhiya (five times) and Beit Jnawro in the Latakia governorate, and Aleppo’s Handrat neighborhood," he said and called on field commanders "to stop armed provocations and embark on a path of peaceful settlement of the situation in areas under their control."

Apart from that, ninety Syrians, including 46 children, received medical assistance from Russian military doctors throughout the day, Tsygankov added.

The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria. The center’s officers regularly travel around the country's liberated areas to assess the humanitarian situation. The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes and evacuation of civilians from de-escalation zones.
