Russian Prosecutor General’s Office says 19 terrorist attacks prevented in six months

The number of terror-related crimes reduced in 2018

MOSCOW, August 3. /TASS/. As many as 19 terrorist attacks were prevented in Russian in the first six months of the year, First Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman said at a board meeting of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

"As many as 19 terrorist attacks were prevented while they were being planned," he said.

According to Buksman, the number of terror-related crimes has been reducing in 2018, as 14% less crimes were detected in the first half of the year compared to the same period of 2017.

"For the first time in several years, there has been a decline in extremism-related crimes," the deputy prosecutor general added.
