One of the creators of Ukraine’s radical feminist activist group notorious for their controversial demonstrations has committed suicide in Paris

MOSCOW, July 24. /TASS/. One of the creators of Ukraine’s radical feminist activist group notorious for their controversial demonstrations, Oksana Shachko, has committed suicide in Paris, a co-founder of the movement said on Tuesday.

"The most fearless and vulnerable member, Oksana Shachko, has left us," Anna Gutsol wrote on Facebook. The woman’s body was found in her Paris apartment on Monday. "According to her friends, she left a suicide note."

Shachko, 31, had been residing in France since 2013.

The Femen movement was founded by Oksana Shachko, Alexandra Shevchenko and Anna Gutsol in 2008. The feminist group, which is not registered, earned internationally notoriety for staging topless protests in Kiev and other European capitals.
