The Preussisch Eylau Castle in Bagrationovsk, the Kaliningrad Region, was founded as a stronghold of the Teutonic Order in the 14th century. The castle did not experience any major damage during the Great Patriotic War (WWII) and its residential premises were used until the early 1960s. A fire broke out in the castle in June 2016 and partly destroyed the roof. The office of prosecutor demanded to repair the castle at the beginning of 2016.
