Russians support both France and Croatia in upcoming World Cup final - poll

41% of those polled think that France will receive the champion’s title, and 39% think that Croatia will win

MOSCOW, July 15. /TASS/. According to a survey published on Sunday by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center, more than a third (35%) of Russians support team Croatia in the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup final, nearly the same amount of pollsters (31%) support France.

"In the upcoming match, a third of pollsters (35%) will support the Croatian national team, while 31% of Russians will support France. Moreover, 41% of those polled think that France will receive the champion’s title, and 39% think that Croatia will win," the message states.

Croatia and France will face each other in the FIFA World Cup final, which will take place on Sunday at Luzhniki stadium in Moscow. The kickoff is at 18:00 Moscow time.

More than a half of Russians (61%) plan to watch the final game, 58% of them will watch it at home, at work or at a friend’s house, 2% will enjoy the last World Cup match in a bar or in a caf·, while 1.2% of those polled will watch it at the stadium or at the FIFA Fan Fest.

The national survey by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center was held on July 12 through interviewing 1,600 people. The error margin does not surpass 2.5% with 95% probability.
