The Moscow Urban Forum will be held on July 17-22

MOSCO, July 13. /TASS/. A total of fifty foreign delegations can take part in the Moscow Urban Forum this year, Moscow Deputy Mayor Marat Khusnullin told reporters on Friday.

The Moscow Urban Forum will be held on July 17-22 in Zaryadye Park in Moscow’s historical center, which opened in the autumn of 2017.

"We have completed its [Zaryadye Park] construction. We mark its opening with the Urban Forum, which we will hold for the eighth time. There is tremendous interest in it [the forum]. More than 300 foreign speakers have applied for participation, and over 30 foreign delegations have already confirmed [their participation]. I believe [there can be] twenty more delegations," he said.

According to Khusnullin, about 7,000 people have applied for participation in the forum this year.

The 2018 Moscow Urban Forum is titled "Megacity of the Future. New Space for Living." Its session will focus on the development of big cities and metropolitan areas during the era of global change. Russian and foreign urbanists, sociologists and economists will discuss patterns for the development of megacities around the globe. The forum’s business program events will be held on July 17-18. The Linking Generations festival is planned as well.
