Moscow is ready to discuss an agreement on abolishing visas for short-term trips of Japanese citizens to Russia

MOSCOW, July 6. /TASS/. Russia is ready to discuss an agreement on abolishing visas for short-term trips of Japanese citizens to Russia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov told journalists on Friday.

"We offer Japan various ways to facilitate the visa regime, for example, consider the opportunity of visa-free group tourism. We have a similar agreement with China. We are waiting for the response of our Japanese colleagues," the deputy foreign ministry said.

"We are ready to work on an agreement on visa-free travel for short-term trips from our side," Ivanov noted. "However, we are not working on it currently, these are just plans.".
