Yulia Skripal's cousin to apply for UK visa again in late July

The British authorities earlier turned down her visa application more than once

YAROSLAVL, July 3. /TASS/. Former Russian intelligence officer Sergei Skripal’s niece Viktoria who lives in the city of Yaroslavl (some 250 kilometers northeast of Moscow) has said she will apply for a UK visa again at the end of July.

The British authorities earlier turned down her visa application more than once. She needed a visa to visit her cousin, Russian citizen Yulia Skripal in the UK after the Salisbury incident.

"I still cannot get in touch with Yulia. I intend to apply for a visa, most likely at the end of July," she told TASS on Tuesday.

On March 4, former Russian military intelligence officer Sergei Skripal, 66, who had been convicted in Russia for spying for the UK, and his daughter Yulia, 33, were found unconscious on a bench near the Maltings shopping center in Salisbury, the UK. Police said they had been exposed to a nerve agent.

Later on, London claimed that the Novichok-class toxin had been allegedly developed in Russia. With that, the UK rushed to accuse Russia of being involved, while failing to furnish any evidence. Moscow refuted the accusations stating that neither the Soviet Union nor Russia had ever done research into that toxic chemical.
