25 people injured in heavy storm tearing through Moscow, central Russia

Russia’s Hydro-meteorological Center released a Status Orange warning for Moscow overnight to April 22

MOSCOW, April 21. /TASS/. At least 25 people have been injured due gale-force wind that raged in the Russian capital, the Moscow, Bryansk and Ryazan regions, the emergency services told TASS on Saturday.

"Overall, 25 people have been injured, most of them in Moscow and the Moscow region. One person was hurt in each region of Bryansk and Ryazan," he said.

Falling trees and unsteady or poorly fixed structures caused injuries.

Russia’s Hydro-meteorological Center released a Status Orange warning for Moscow overnight to April 22. Gale-force wind with gusts of up to 25 meters per second and a thunderstorm have battered the city and nearby regions.
