MOSCOW, July 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said on Friday that Russian should grant political or temporary asylum to Snowden.

He called attention to the fact that the United States that has been insisting on Snowden’s extradition still used capital punishment.

"I assume that there are great risks that this punishment is in store for Edward Snowden. We do not have the right to let that happen,” Naryshkin emphasized.

"Russia should grant political or temporary asylum to Snowden,” the Russian State Duma speaker said in conclusion.
