LONDON, July 2 (Itar-Tass) - Former CIA employee Edward Snowden has sent applications for political asylum to authorities of more than 20 countries, WikiLeaks said on Tuesday.

Applications for political asylum were sent to a number of countries, including Russia, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Germany, India, Ireland, Spain, Italy, China, Cuba, the Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Poland, Finland, France and Switzerland, WikiLeaks said.

To some countries, in particular Iceland and Ecuador, applications were sent more than once.
