Aircraft with Edward Snowden aboard makes landing at Sheremetyevo

MOSCOW, June 23 (Itar-Tass) - An Aeroflot aircraft with former CIA technical contractor Edward Snowden aboard made a landing at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport on Sunday.

The SU213, which followed on the Hong Kong - Moscow route, made the landing at 5:05 p.m. Moscow time under schedule.

Earlier, an Aeroflot source told Itar-Tass that a passenger named Snowden was aboard the plane. He may be travelling on a transit flight via Moscow, the source said.

On Monday, June 24, he is to fly to Havana by Aeroflot flight aboard the SU150 at 2:05 p.m. and then to Caracas, the source said.

“According to preliminary information, Snowden has not received the Russian visa. He will wait for the flight to Havana in the transit zone,” the source told Itar-Tass.
