Russia, Italy sign agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas

MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. Russia and Italy have signed an intergovernmental agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas, the press service of the Russian ministry of education and science said on Monday.

"This step will be an additional impetus prompting the Italian youth to opt for Russian education," the press service said.

About 5,500 students from Western European countries are currently studying in Russia. Slightly more than 1,000 of them are Italian nationals. Italy, in turn, enjoys high popularity among Russian students, the ministry added.
