MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. The Express-AMU1 communications satellite has been put into calculated orbit, Russian Federal Space Agency Roscosmos told TASS.
"The apparatus has been put into calculated orbit," a Roscosmos spokesman said.
Earlier some media reported that the apparatus was put into a non-nominal orbit.
According to a TASS source in the rocket and space industry, the perigee and apogee of the satellite, that is the points closest and maximally distant from the center of the Earth on its orbit are within acceptable frames.
The Proton-M rocket with the Briz-M upper stage blasted off from the Baikonur Space Center Russia leased from Kazakhstan at 00:31 Moscow Time December 25. At 09:43 Moscow Time the Express separated from the upper stage and reached its target orbit.
Specialists of Airbus D&S, which produced the satellite, are currently controlling the apparatus.
