STOCKHOLM, December 6. /TASS/. A week of the Nobel Prize festivities gets underway in Stockholm on Sunday, during which 10 laureates of the world’s most famous scientific award will be honored. The award itself will be presented to them on December 10 in the Stockholm Concert Hall.
A total of 11 laureates will receive the award this year. According to Alfred Nobel’s Will, the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo. This time it was given to a group of mediators in the dialogue between the Tunisian government and the opposition - the Tunisian national dialogue quartet.
Since 1901, the Nobel Prize was awarded 573 times to 870 people and 23 organizations. The oldest Nobel laureates this year are 85-year-old medical scientists, professors William Campbell of the United States and Tu Youyou of China. The youngest laureate this year is 56-year-old physicist Takaaki Kajita.
