Russian Proton-M places Turkish satellite on suborbital path

MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. A Russian Protom-M carries rocket, which was launched late on Friday from the Baikonur space pad in Kazakhstan, has placed its Briz-M booster with a Turkish Turksat 4B satellite to a low suborbital path, Russian Space Agency Roscosmos told TASS on Friday.

"The upper stage has separated from the carrier rocket’s third stage," the spokesman said.

The rocket will be further placed to the designated orbit by means of switching Briz-M engines five times.

The satellite will be placed on its orbit at 08:53 a.m. Moscow time on October 17.
