Roscosmos plans to complete a new round of cosmonauts selection in 2020

MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. The Russian government has allocated 126.68 million rubles (nearly $2 million) for the space corporation Roscosmos to carry out the selection and training cosmonauts, as follows from an order published on the official legal information portal.

According to earlier reports, Roscosmos plans to complete a new round of cosmonauts selection in 2020. On August 10, 2018 the results of the 17th recruitment round were made public. Eight newcomers enlisted.

The 17th selection round that began in March 2017 was open. Applications were accepted from Russian citizens under 35 years of age, having higher education in engineering, scientific or flight specialties and a previous work record. There were 420 contenders on the original list of applicants.
