New date for OneWeb satellites’ launch by Soyuz carrier rocket announced

The launch is due on February 26

MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. The launch of satellites of British company OneWeb by the Soyuz-ST carrier rocket from the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana has been postponed until February 26, the company’s Executive Chairman Greg Wyler said on Tuesday.

"New Date: Tuesday, Feb 26. Four day slip! This is new territory launching so many autonomous spacecraft, and they were factory built. Two firsts, so we are moving carefully in every way. A few days here or there to double check rockets, routines and process is ok by me," he wrote on Twitter.

The launch of OneWeb satellites for ensuring broadband Internet for users around the world was scheduled for February 19. However, later the CEO said the British company was postponing the launch due to problems with the Russian rocket. Later, Wyler said the launch was scheduled for February 22.
