Roscosmos claims it is victim of smear campaign in Russian, foreign media

In May 2018, Russian Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Space Industry Dmitry Rogozin was appointed the head of Roscosmos

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Russian and foreign mass media have launched a smear campaign against Roscosmos, a spokesman for the Russian state space corporation, Vladimir Ustimenko, told TASS on Wednesday.

"In order to make unbiased conclusions about the information campaign against Roscosmos it’s enough to carry out a brief monitoring of our and foreign press over the past several months," Ustimenko said.

The situation differs from the one, which probably many speakers and media outlets, which do not have enough knowledge, would like to see, the spokesman noted. According to him, active changes are underway in the space sector initiated by the new Roscosmos leadership.

In May 2018, Russian Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Space Industry Dmitry Rogozin was appointed the head of Roscosmos, replacing Igor Komarov, who had served as the state corporation’s chief since January 2015. Komarov had earlier headed the United Rocket and Space Corporation.
