Skolkovo Foundation presents 20 Russian companies at exhibition in Singapore

The recognition and video analytics technologies were particularly popular at the exhibition, the foundation stated

SINGAPORE, November 15. / TASS /. Over 20 Russian companies presented their developments on smart city operation at the Skolkovo Foundation and AFK Sistema stands at the ASEAN Summit exhibition, said Sergei Voinov, head of the Skolkovo IT-cluster, Foundation Skolkovo on Thursday.

"Our partner on the stand is Sistema. There are companies that develop technologies for the Smart City. There are 20 companies that are divided into four areas: construction and management, security, medical services and 4.0 industry, the concept of digitalization of production processes", said Voinov.

"Particularly popular are the recognition and video analytics technologies. For example, it is the VisionLabs, it introduced face recognition technology, determining the person’s age from the image - they are used in the field of security and law enforcement during mass events," he said. "In Russia, they are used, say, in the metro, that is how a person is recognized in the stream of people and search for similarities with various databases, including that of criminal elements and others," Voinov explained.

According to him, medicine has become another popular direction of the Russian stand. "It is also in great demand, as Russian pattern recognition technologies are very well applicable in the medical field. These are Botkin.AI, Third Opinion, and Med.me, presenting the block chain-based information systems integration technology," he said. "This is also Doc + - one of the largest venture capital deals in Russia this year. This is a company that can hardly be called a startup: in August they had a deal, as a result of which they attracted $ 9 million," he said."Our medical technologies look very respectable on the world market. However, there are other promising areas," said Voinov. "We discussed issues of urban planning with partners from the Republic of Korea, namely digital twins’ technology, i.e. obtaining digital 3D models of buildings with their full linear dimensions. We have a company with very strong technologies in this area - Webgears, and I am sure that negotiations with her South Korean partners will continue," he stressed.

According to Voinov, during the exhibition, members of official delegations from other countries, including Laos, Thailand and Singapore came up to come more familiar with the information on the stand.
