University of Tyumen to team up with industry to create scientific and educative center

Russia plans to set up a single inter-regional scientific and educative center on the territory of the Tyumen Region

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. The investment project of the State University of Tyumen and HMS Neftemash to set up a hi-tech facility for producing hydrocarbons extraction equipment can become an example of cooperation between higher school and industry in establishing the Tyumen Region scientific-educative center, the University’s press office reported on Friday.

"This experience is valuable and can serve as a kind of benchmark cooperation between higher educational institutions and enterprises of the real sector of the economy," the University’s press office said in a statement.

"The new project of the University and a large enterprise supported by the regional authorities is a vivid example showing that we have good accumulated potential for creating the scientific and educative center in the region," the press office quoted State University of Tyumen Rector Valery Falkov as saying.

Scientific and educative centers are being set up within the framework of the national project "Science," which the Russian president has instructed to work out in his decree issued in May this year.

The investment project of the State University of Tyumen and HMS Neftemash stipulates developing instruments of control over hydrocarbons extraction equipment.

Tyumen Region Scientific and Educative Center

Russia plans to set up a single inter-regional scientific and educative center on the territory of the Tyumen Region, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area.

This scientific and educative center can focus on four basic themes that take into account the specifics of the three regions. The first theme relates to the technology of developing the Arctic, the so-called cold climate technologies, with which the Scientific Center for Arctic Studies is dealing on Yamal Peninsula.

The second theme stipulates the development of oil and gas extraction and refining and the petrochemical industry. The third area involves aqua-and bio-culture. The fourth theme deals with solving social and humanitarian issues, on which the State University of Tyumen is working actively.
